Why do I have the right to be around great leaders in the conference?

A draft sent to National Leader Conference Committee

A new leader is born
Everyone is born to be a leader, at least a leader for himself and his family. The leadership exists in every soul of human and its spirits will appear in how human talks, makes difficult decision among problematic choices and organizes and manages all sources of energy in his surrounding, visible or invisible, for the sake of human prosperity. The leadership seeds can be clearly seen in how a man interacts with others, guides or directs others who need guidance, and helps others who might be unable to help themselves. However, it is our own choice who make the leadership gift to be powerfull or powerless, to be useful or useless ot to be meaningfull or meaningless. I, myself, have decided to change my self and influence and help others with such a great gift.

Leadership is not only about belief, it is also about proving what is believed. Being a postgraduate student in UOW is my previous belief that I have proven to be a reality. Now here I am. I have been through very tough processes to lead and to control my self, to negotiate with scholarship funding and to pass their requirement as well as to ascertain a lot of people that I would be able to study in University of Wollongong. I also had to make decision to leave my work where my students are hungrily expecting me in their surrounding. I did also decide to leave my dearest family, wife and two little kids, who need the warmth of mine at home. I left them just to enrich, enpower and enlarge my leadership capacity which I can use to lead myself, family, school and even the community in my home country. I do believe that such processes would be an example of how I lead my self to be a better leader.

Soekarno ( Former Indonesian President)
One of the greatest world leader ever
With the leadership conference I might attend in the future, I might not get brand new  knowledge or skills because leadership is something unversal, yet it is for sure that listening to the other great leaders will definitely recharge my leadership “battery”. Having the chance to be with them, sharing experiences, would another way to learn real life lessons because leaders do grow up from problems. Also, being with great leaders, having rich and invaluable life experiences, will certainly strenghten my mental, emotion, even to a certain degree, my spiritual awareness which all leaders need to stay balance. For those reasons, the conference will be a very rewarding leadership learning moment for me.

After attending the conference, I might not be able to use the knowledge and skill I would get because I still have to stay for a term in UOW. However, as soon as I complete my study, I Will be back home to Indonesia, and there where I will totally use all the leadership power. I will be back to my family, and be a great dady. I will work again in the school and college and be a motivating teacher and manager. I will definitely immerse myself in my previous social work and together with local leaders to manage all the resources and organize the youth, for their welfare. Those all the things I will do upon completing my study in UOW.

So do you think I deserve the sponsorship?
